He was the first of his kind. In life, with which endeavor I'm sure, but I speak on youtube. He paved the way for sailing channels everywhere. Always will be remembered by me.

  11. There are some people, that people gravitate to where ever they go and enrich the lives of the people that they meet along the way. it strikes me that Alex seems to have been such a person.

  12. RIP, that story has inspired me to take up sailing now. I hope he loved his life. AMAZING STORY!

  13. What a great documentary. He lived life to the fullest. I just don't know why he stopped sailing and going on adventures if he loved it so much.. shame he didn't get a chance to go at it again

  14. How does gerber, after sailing and realizing the vastness of the ocean still think if they sink worst case scenario is they lose a boat and have a story. Dude. Death

  15. Wow, what an amazing movie! We must live life to the fullest and Alex Rust did that! What a shining example of a wonderful human being..maybe our world is not great enough to hold on to people like Alex. Thank you so much for this wonderful footage and wonderful message! May the four winds blow you safely home!

  16. I think the name of the boat "bubbles" probably comes from the stock market expression of "bubbles" and how traders look for bubbles to exploit them for profit. And "chasing bubbles" is a carry on of that idea in what he was doing with his boat trip, the adrenaline rush of the dangers of the unknown.

  17. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
