  2. I like a stiff shaft

  3. Rick , Does Any club flex shaft make a difference . FOR ME NO . IVE GRAFFITE WOODS ,STEEL IN IRONS, AND A RESCUE STIFF SHAFTED 19% . I hit them all very well , but have a slow swing , and am a 15 handicap over 63 golfer.

  4. I'd like to see a normal guy with a 90mph swing speed do this same test

  5. I'm still thinking that the faster the swing, the stiffer the flex needs to be for the ball to fly straighter. Otherwise, you're leaving them to the left.

  6. I wonder if hitting the extra stiff then the regular made it seem like a senior flex.

  7. I like going to TopGolf and hitting the woman's driver. The shaft flexes so much and it's fun.

  8. As a 68 year old, I would be intrested in seeing this same test run with a mid to high handicap senior. It kind of makes sense that you're gonna smash all of them. Having just bought a set of clubs with senior flex shafts, I'm really interested in whether I could do as well with the stiff flex. I can tell you when I use the stiff flex clubs I bought for my athletic 25 year old son, I don't do very well! I went to a lesson with a 5 year old Titleist driver on a stiff flex and an old MG on a senior flex, and I was hitting the older, cheaper club about 50 yd further. The pro told me to leave the titleist at home!

  9. My question is how would a mid or high handicap person do in this same test?

  10. What about testing the Flex-A with a higher loft to increase launch angle similar to Flex-X? See if carry and overall distance increases. Enjoying your videos…very interesting and informative videos.

  11. He has a more consistent swing than the average golfer and idk about y’all but feel means almost everything when it comes to controlling a club. Yes the stats don’t lie but he has such a solid consistent swing into each club that the average golfer would have a hard time recreating this

  12. I wish I could hit any shaft as well as you hit all of them.

  13. flex 100 percent .

  14. How would a slower swing do with a stiffer shaft?

  15. Great vid, something Ive wanted to know for years

  16. Fascinating stuff. Thanks so much.

  17. This tells us very little. What about older players (I'm 77 and 5 handicap, having been scratch when younger and using X shafts at that time) whose swing speed has dropped? Does an A flex shaft produce longer drives for them, or not? That would be more to the point, because such golfers are "fitted" (or "prescribed" would be a better word) more flexible shafts. If they don't produce more distance, then what is the point? I would appreciate your thoughts on this, perhaps with further testing with golfers with slower swing speeds who need more distance.

  18. first test i see on youtube that tries to cut out bias as much as possible by not knowing outright, which flex you swing. great! of course you probably guessed it by waggle the club already. still great effort!
but since manufacturers still haven't managed to label shafts beyond ladies…regular…stiff etc. it's still a matter of intensively trying out the shaft first hand. i guess, if shafts were labeled by frequency, and if you could trust that manufacturers would sell shafts to a guaranteed variance, selection and fine-selection of shafts would be much easier.
that said, i believe most golfers use too stiff shafts. you have to feel a certain whip to the shaft already by swinging 80%. otherwise you are forced to swing too hard.
you, of course, don't seem to have a problem with swinging hard and stay within yourself. again, great content.

  19. Hi rick. I am a high handicapper. Playing off around 25-28. My swing speed is approx the same as yours. I’m currently using a reg flex. But when I’ve been to a fitting (how I know the speed) the guys who I’m with are adamant I NEED a stiff flex. And to be honest, when I’ve tried one, my shot shape does change. So is the little difference in your shots, down to your ability? Love your vids, they’ve helped my game a lot so far! Please keep them coming. 👍
