What To Wear For Cycling: Loose Vs Lycra Clothing

You don’t need lycra or special kit to go for a bike ride. In fact you don’t need to look like a cyclist at all, and the best cycling clothing is what makes you feel comfortable and confident. But what about dedicated sports fabrics with performance cuts and designs?

In association with Shimano.

  1. Global Cycling Network

Lycra or baggy, or somewhere in-between? What's your go-to for cycling?

  2. flannel shirt and normal pants but a cycling helmet

  3. just wanna know what Si size cuz our bodies are alike i think

  4. I wear cycling jersey to look cool

  5. After a few months I just had to come back to that video to see Si dancing ;-))))) And the day become more fun. 😀

  6. I wear a bib under active shorts and a tshirt with under armor sleeveless shirt under it. I ride 30-40 miles in it. I honestly dont think wearing straight lycra would make a difference with me.

  7. In my mid 50's and have really caught the cycling bug. Got the bike, need the clothes. My problem, if it is a problem, is i am really lanky! Long, very skinny legs that whilst strong, i really do not want them on show. So shorts out of the question! Don't like track suit bottoms, so not sure what to get. Maybe a stupid question, i just don't know. Anyone got good advice?

  8. Any retailer suggestions on where one can get the cycling "baggies" you showcased in the video?

  9. I ride in a tropical climate and lycra is really all you want here. Anything else is just way too sweaty. I even use arm and leg 'warmers'. Thin ones obviously and that's for protection against the sun. Otherwise I'll burn alive. I stopped using cleats though and went back to flats. It's just so much more practical and the downside of not being clipped in well… I don't really notice a downside.

  10. So men and women's cycling equipment is different because men and women's equipment is different?

    (Inception music)

  11. This chick is way too chubby to be taken serious when it comes to cycling advice.

  12. I wear baggy shorts 1/4 of the time. Speed doesn’t seem that different.

  13. Is it worse, bad or normal to wear tight cycling shorts and jerseys on MTB?

  14. Katherine for the win!

  15. Is there any brand you would recommend for riders that have a bigger upper body? Not the 3XL models with huge waist measure though!

  16. I mostly wear baggies for going to work but I wear Lycra when it's hot or wet or I have a longer ride.

  17. Lycra if your on the chunky side? Overweight? Erm no. I'll stick to loose fit least I send pedestrians into fakes of laughter or shock, lol

  18. Lycra pants and regular t-shirt. I am only half serious when it comes to cycling.

  19. Fernando Ramírez

    Baggy, always

  20. I just wear normal clothes. I'm not gonna put up with these expensive, ridiculous looking bicycle clothes.
